THE SLEEK FUSELAGE
Concorde's fuselage is almost as long as that of wide-bodied
aircraft (62,19m 204 ft 6 in. compared with a Boeing 747 70,66
m - 232 ft and also much narrower. Speed and aerodynamics go
hand in hand. The designers of Concorde had to elongate the
aircraft's silhouette, assuring it maximum atmospheric penetration,
even with a full load of 186 tons.
